Based on the Japanese hand towel and multi-purpose cloth, this adaptation of a tenugui, is made of red-and-white-checkered gingham fabric and embellished with two bands of decorative geometric patterns inspired by sashiko, an embroidery technique which began in the Edo era.

The tenugui measures 35cm x 95cm and is made of 100% cotton.
