Limited edition of 3 — each piece unique

One June morning in 1818, on a road south of Berlin, Oriole was sitting on a branch of an elderflower bush when a man with a friendly face stopped to watch him. “This is without doubt an oriolus oriolus,” the man said. He introduced himself as Adelbert von Chamisso — botanist, poet, explorer — and invited Oriole to join him on one of his excursions. That day, Chamisso carried a large green tin vasculum on a leather strap, carefully placing plant specimens inside to be pressed and preserved. Oriole learned that beauty and preservation can coexist.

This vessel, crafted in 925 silver and nestled in a vibrant red felt holder, echoes the form and purpose of Chamisso’s botanical vasculum. Each of the three pieces in this limited edition varies slightly in height and diameter, making every one a unique collector’s item — a tribute to the botanist, poet, and explorer who catalogued the natural world with such care.

Use it to hold small treasures, as a sculptural object, or as a reminder that preservation and beauty can coexist.

This object comes with an extended story about Oriole’s encounter with Adelbert von Chamisso.
